• This page is devoted to athlete profiles, both Australian and overseas. Under each sport is a list of athletes whose profiles are presented in text but some are also profiled through audio and video. A fact file for an athlete includes their country of birth, sport or event, date of birth, personal best performance, coach, club and prospects at Sydney 2000. For example, Dion Russell will represent Australia in the 20 km and 50 km walks. There are also a number of famous Olympic athletes from the history of the Games, such as Kip Keino and Murray Rose.
