Use the links on this page to browse the official Olympic and international sports sites. You'll be able to read about the qualifiers, study the profiles of competing teams and be up to date with how teams and individuals are performing in pre-Games competitions.

Athletics Australia now has profiles of about 120 Australian sthletes - latest IOC leadership meeting discussed the EPO detection test - the latest Golden League meeting was in Zurich on August 11 - results are now available - the next Golden League meeting is on August 18 in Monaco.

Fédération Internationale de tir à l'arc. For Olympic news, read Alison Williamson's Olympic diary (Alison Williamson is a British archer who is ranked number 2 in the world and will be participating in her 3rd Olympics). The site has a list of world and Olympic records and the world's top ranked archers. Archery Australia has its site at http://archeryaustralia.m6.net.

International Amateur Athletics Federation. Use the performance rankings section of this site to see how the Australian athletes and others are performing in the Northern Hemisphere meetings as they prepare for September. Results of the meetings currently underway in Europe are available. You can use this site to familiarise yourself with the competitors who'll be in Sydney.
The Golden League Meetings. The next meeting is at Monaco on August 18, then Brussels on August 25 and the final meeting in Berlin on September 1. Look under Reports for the latest news. The 2000 Top Lists were last updated on August 3 and they're downloadable in text format (350Kb) - scroll to the bottom of the page for the download link.
Australian Athletics Federation. Profiles of about 120 Australian athletes are now available. Look through the rankings and note the athletics trials scheduled at Stadium Australia on August 17-19.

International Badmintion Federation. There is a separate section devoted to Olympics news. Of note is that the official Olympics draw will be released on September 7, based on world rankings as at August 31.

Federacion Internacional de Beisbol. Look under Latest News for Olympic news. There are some preliminary comments about Haarlem Olympic Week.

Fédération Internationale de Basketball Association. Currently it's probably best to look under the Have You Heard? section of the site for news on what's happening with basketball around the world. Australian basketball's site is www.basketball.net.au.

International Amateur Boxing Association. The site hasn't a great deal of Olympics 2000 news yet. I'll update here when there's more information.

The Federation's official site appears to be not "live" at the moment so visit Worldsport.com where you can choose canoeing. Results from the World Championship kayak event are currently being posted here. The I.C.F. site is given as www.datanet.hu/icf_hq/.

International Gymnastics Federation. Read about the schedule for test events and the Olympics draw. Gymnastics Australia has its site at www.gymnastics.org.au.

International Handball Federation. The site has Olympic news and for those not familiar with the game, some sections on the A-Z of handball and a guide to the game.

Fédération Internationale de Hockey. Among the site's list of events, there are various championships that will be held before the Olympics so you'll be able to see how various teams are performing in the preparation. The Kookaburra's are featured at Hockey Australia's site (www.hockeyaustralia.org.au) and the Hockeyroos at www.hockey.org.au.
